I have been adding yarn to The Busy Needle's website http://www.thebusyneedleonline.com/ for almost a week now.... and I've only completed three of the "small" bins (18 gal) here at the house. I still have 3 "large" bins to go. Each color of each yarn has to be input separately. I'm tired of typing. I'm tired of counting skeins & balls of yarn.
These yarns at which I'm so tired of looking will be part of the online website sale scheduled for July 5-27. Most will be 50% off. A few will be more than 50% off. None have been out of the shop for more than 6 months. But the shop is small and new shipments arrive all the time and I have to put it somewhere! So after it goes on sale at 20-30% off at the shop, the remainder finds a home in my home... specifically, in my personal space.
Enter the website. From now on, there will be no stockpile here at the house. I will be able to have my craft room/second guest room back and be able to actually walk around in it. I might even be able to get to the serger and sewing machine. And I'm really looking forward to being able to organize and find permanent homes for all my Stampin' Up cardstock and rubber stamps... and maybe even add a table in there so I don't have to use the library table in the living room to make cards and mini-scrapbooks. Yea!
So every time my energy flags, as it has this morning, I just remember that I'm not just inputting yarn onto the website, I'm reclaiming my craft room. Thank you Al Gore. Back to work!

have you thought of getting a handscanner? Do the skiens have barcodes?
Some of the skeins have barcodes, but not all. The problem is that I need to put in descriptions of each of the yarns as well as the fiber content, recommended gauge, etc. Unfortunately, just scanning the barcode does not accomplish that. But keep the ideas coming!
