It's Monday morning.... yawn. I have so much shop stuff to do today that it will take hours to get it all completed, and I'm not looking forward to that.

Father's Day was lovely. We took Father (and Mother, by default) out to brunch late yesterday morning. I think they left the restaurant and went directly to bingo, as that's what Dad asked to do. Go figure. While I admit to playing on the occasional Girls Night Out, I just don't see what the attraction is other than, perhap, a respite from boredom. Now that Mother is almost always in a wheelchair, perhaps for Dad it's a respite from her constant needs. Anyway, he enjoys it and that's what matters.

I'd been looking forward all week to a new scrapbooking video I'd received, so when I arrived home I put it in the DVD player. While I won't say it was a total disappointment, I did nod off for about a half-hour in the middle of it! Oh well. There were a few good pointers, and the interview with the editor of Scrapbooks etc magazine was fascinating.

Gail made Chicken Corn Pie for dinner. Now if you're from the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, or have even visited there, you'll probably know that this dish is a local favorite. It's also exactly what it says: chicken and corn baked under a pie crust. We serve it with gravy made from the broth in which the chicken was cooked. Nana made it best, but Gail's is screamingly close to the original.

Because Keri turned 22 on Saturday, we had a birthday ice cream cake for dessert. Yum. Go Keri. Keri's fiance joined us for dinner. We gotta "scrape that boy's tongue" as Nana used to say. It came out last night that he doesn't particularly care for corn. Too bad for him. More for us.
